I understand that...
I understand that I don’t understand, but I stand with you.
I walked behind that poster though I held another in our neighborhood march.
People are more important than any process,
whether seeking justice or efficiency-seeking.
In that process, if we lose empathy, we may lose the meaning altogether.
The aim or destination does not justify the way.
The way is equally important.
The thinking that rationalizes any path for a goal is inherently violent.
Often, we normalize the things around us.
For example, we might be of a community
of color blue/red/black/green/white/brown/saffron,
or we can be of a particular class within the economy.
Our definition of the normal can be limited
by a few ranges of frequencies of the entire spectrum.
It is not easy to understand or listen to all the voices.
Justice is not reciprocal.
It should spring from love and empathy.
I understand that I don’t understand, but I stand with you.
